I am supporting plans to develop a new Western Rail Link to Heathrow.

Once built, this link would allow passengers to travel direct to Heathrow rather than into London Paddington

The new link has the potential to provide significant economic benefits for the Thames Valley, South West and South Wales.

It will also ease congestion on some of the UK’s busiest roads, the M4, M5 and the M25 resulting in lower C02 emissions and helping to deliver climate change and carbon reduction targets.

The key benefit for Plymouth residents is that it will take a significant amount of time off the journey from Plymouth to Heathrow, making the airport much more accessible to local people.

Public consultations took place in 2018 and Network Rail have begun work on the Development Consent Order.

I have also just been re-elected to the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Western Rail Link to Heathrow, which will allow me to continue raising this important issue in Parliament.
