Luke with Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Ilir Kapiti, Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the UK

2024 is the 25th anniversary of NATO’s intervention in Kosovo to stop the ethnic cleansing of Albanian Muslims.

I’ve visited Kosovo and seen the high regard the UK and our armed forces are held in.

Thanks to the decision made by the last Labour Government, Kosovo is now an independent country that’s growing in confidence, vibrant and only a short direct flight from London.

Tonight I met again with Albin Kurti, the Prime Minister of Kosovo, to talk about UK support for his country and how we need to stand united against Russian aggression in Ukraine and the malign influence in the Western Balakans.

I know Plymouth service personnel have served in Kosovo, from the war in 1999 onwards.

Kosovo is a small country, but it matters that its people can live in peace.
