Luke Pollard MP Labour & Co-op Member of Parliament for Plymouth Sutton & Devonport
It’s great news that planning permission has been granted for the new Community Diagnostics Centre in Colin Campbell Court car park. This is the first building of many for the new city centre health village I’ve been arguing for.
As the local MP for this area I’ve been proud to work alongside Plymouth City Council and our local NHS on this project. I met with the councillor responsible for the city centre health village, Mark Lowry, for an update.
You will know since being elected I’ve been arguing for a Super Health Hub on the car park at the bottom end of town, but Ministers pulled funding and the project collapsed. The health needs of people in Plymouth remain, so now we need to replicate what would have been in one building in many across a city centre health village.
The building work for the new diagnostics centre will begin soon. Well done to everyone who has pulled together to get this project working – a proper team Plymouth success story.
Really happy that planning permission has been secured for the first building in the city centre health village I've been arguing for. A community diagnostics centre is a step forward. Now we need the other services that would have been in the cancelled Super Health Hub built too https://t.co/57wttGi86k
